FAMILY FISHING TRIPS
Guide Service with Darryl Morris

 TRIP PREPARATION

If you are planning a trip or have already booked a trip, here are some things you will want to know.

Your trip will be on Lake Greeson near Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Here are Driving Directions

This is where I slip my boat and from where we will start our trip.

If you have already booked a trip:
Call me (501-844-5418) the evening before your trip so we can set a time to start our trip.

 THE DAY OF YOUR TRIP

I provide all the bait and tackle needed for the trip.
You will need to purchase your fishing license before the trip.
You can purchase them locally or by visiting
the
Arkansas Game and Fish Commission website or call 1-800-364-4263.

Bottled water is provided and you're welcome to bring any snacks and beverages of your choice.  We are usually near enough to the marina for snack and bathroom breaks if needed.  When we fish over the lunch hour, Self Creek Marina has sandwiches and pizza.

Dress appropriately for the weather conditions (Weather.com for Kirby, AR)
and bring a hat and polarized sunglasses no matter the time of year.  All the fish we keep will be filleted and packaged for you, unless you wish to fish the entire trip time and take and clean your own.  Bring your camera and don't forget to bring a cooler for your fillets.

Call me (501-844-5418) the evening before your trip so we can set a time to start our trip.
So we don't miss any fish catching opportunities and so you can make plans accordingly,
we should leave the dock by first light on a morning trip
and shortly after noon on afternoon trips.
Of course, this varies with the seasons.
I'll be expecting your call.

 RECOMMENDATIONS

For Crappie and Bass trips,  full-day or half-day a.m. and p.m. trips are productive during the Spring, Fall and Winter. I recommend a.m. trips only during the summer months.
Striper trips  are usually best during the hottest summer months (an early start is a must)
and continue through the fall and winter.
Striper and Crappie combo trips  are usually best during the winter months.

If you're looking for that big one, weight-wise, late winter and early spring is your best bet.
Fall produces it's share of wall-hangers too once they fatten themselves up.
In my opinion, a 15 plus inch crappie is still a slab no matter the time of year or its weight.
If you're looking for greater numbers of fish, spring and fall is your time.
Just remember, I can't control the weather and rescheduling is not a problem when it's bad.

These are just recommendations based on my experience on the water to help you plan your fishing trip and achieve your goals.  I will always do my best to put you on fish and make your trip a great one.  If you haven't seen my trip pictures, go here - Current Photos - and you can see past photos for the time of year you wish to fish.
